I’m quite confused about these two words. In the following sentences:

1. As you will see, data adapter objects function as a bridge between the client tier and a relational database.

2. To showcase the usefulness of the disconnected layer, you will be updating the data library with new namespaces that make use of disconnected types.

it seems that they mean the same thing. Are there any differences between them?

tier和layer是近義詞。

tier有層級(jí)的意思,一般會(huì)有多個(gè)tier,不如士農(nóng)工商,每個(gè)都是一個(gè)tier,一層壓一層

layer就是層。可能就一層。就算是多層,也不強(qiáng)調(diào)級(jí)別。
